Standing the test of time

Continuity is at the core of Pierce & Co. We are proud of our over 120+ year history, and hope to be around in another 120 years. Over the years, the store has changed family ownership only twice; the Pierces and Wyches owned it from 1898 until the 1990s, when the Jollys took over, and since 2021 the Bronskis are proud to be at the helm. From its original location at Red Bug, to its current location at the crossroads of Sam Potts Highway and Hallsboro Road, some things have stood the test of time: quality, customer service and a commitment to serving the local community.

Steeped in history

This beauty of a cash register was built by the National Cash Register Company in Dayton, Ohio in October 1923, and it's been in daily use at Pierce & Co. ever since. Time may keep rolling on, but some things are too good to replace. Stop by to take a look at this piece of history!

The original!

The original Pierce & Co. store was located just south of our current location at Red Bug. Unfortunately, the building has suffered due to several car crashes and is currently in poor condition.

We'd like to collect (and make accessible through store displays the internet) additional pictures of the store and of our surrounding community. If you (or your friends/family) have any pictures that we could scan, please give us a call! We'd all appreciate the opportunity to preserve and share the history.

Here's our collection of pictures and documents that we've gathered...

Unfortunetaly we are unable to give credit to the photographer since most were unlabeled.

If you recognize any people, features and would like to provide additional details for captions, please contact us.
